Blogging For
Business
Thousands Are Now Making Money Who
Never Thought They Could By Blogging For Business
...With These Proven
Techniques
A blog is a simple web
diary, or journal
From the incredibly humble beginnings, blogs
first came on the scene, around mid 1990, all they were then
was a simple reference to a server’s log file, a web-log, the
name quickly shortened to become what we all know today as
blogs.
Blogs, and blogging has evolved to the
point whereby some blogs have almost become, self feeding, self
perpetuating, traffic generating monsters.
When you start out with your own blog, you
first make a blog post, this can be an article, a list, a
picture or just about anything you want to put on your blog.
Your artistic self can run free, and in any form you
choose.
Most web
marketers, host their blog on their own sites with software
like Wordpress, this gives total control to
the blogger admin. Because Wordpress is free, and is also
installed on many fantastico add on scripts that come free
with your cpanel hosting back office.
Installation
is very straightforward, but if this is all too daunting for
you, then you can have a free blog, hosted for you at
Blogger, or Blogeasy.
Blogger is the current favourite, being
championed by Google and with many, user friendly controls and
features.
As blogging became more popular,
the internet marketing crowd began to notice how
these blogs were climbing up the search engine
charts.
The business community began to move in to take
advantage of the blogging phenomena, business bloggers were
born, although, to start out, most entrepreneurs were a little
confused about what sort of content to post.
However, the savvy business users knew that
whatever they put in their blogs, would be picked up quickly by
the search engines, and the overall site ranking would
improve.
Marketers knew that they had control of web
traffic, but had to use affiliate products and e-books to
create a blog. The trouble was that there was only so much
affiliate material to talk about, business blogs grew, mainly
through article content and many marketing blogs took
on a spammy appearance.
There were successes, and most of these are
still going strong today. As a post is posted, the reader has
an option to comment on the post, expanding the overall content
of the blog. The blog then has the capability to turn into an
RSS feed, expanding the reach even further.
Sidebars can contain links and images, these
can be rotated, or left static, to show on every page
impression, these became the advertising space of the business
blogs.
The big break for blogs in business came with
the launch of the Google AdSense campaign, suddenly there was
an easy way to monetize your blog.
Coders soon found new ways of inserting AdSense
code into blog pages and posts, whilst marketers tapped into
rich, new veins of niche traffic, business blogs exploded into
what we have today. Many niche markets are led by bloggers
nowadays, and new niche marketers are applying blogging
technology to their marketing mix.
There are ways to scrape content from other
sources and insert them, automatically into your blog, I do not
recommend you do this, because, fresh content is the food of
the search engines and scraped content can get you banned.
However, it is possible to prepare a series of posts, and you
can still automate your posting.
This automated posting can be achieved by using
a software solution, or by emailing your post through to your
blog, from an autoresponder, this is simple to set up, and a
great option if you cannot gain regular access to your
computer.
Modern blogs are very customizable, and simple
to administer. Different themes can be utilized and easily
adopted for your site specific requirements. And if things
couldn't look any brighter for the business blogger, nearly all
the themes and plugins are completely free and unrestricted for
your use.
