Poor Joe again!

 

 

We've all seen guys like him, let's call him Joe Bucket.

lead capture bucket example Joe has a task to complete, he needs to fill a barrel from a faucet 100 yards away. He has no hose so Joe uses his bucket.

What Joe doesn't know is that the bucket is riddled with tiny holes!

Joe sets off  from A to B and the water' s sprinkling out of the holes in the bucket. He is blissfully unaware of this, and we are all having a good laugh at his expense.

When Joe gets to his destination, he can't understand why his bucket is 1/2 empty and his feet are wet, but Joe carries on all day, simply because he doesn't understand what is happening.

 

But it's only a few drops of water.

The plugging of holes is important to me, the way I operate is to plug the holes first, then fill the bucket. If you lost 1/2 a bucketful of water through holes, could you retrieve it from where it fell? The chances are that you'd have to go back to the faucet.

Now imagine that bucket drips once per second and the water is a dollar a drip.

This shift in costs puts a whole new slant on things, suddenly you can see thousands of dollars sinking into the sand.

It is based around pure logic, but really, it's just common sense.

 

Your opt in subscribers are not water!

You need to understand the lead capture process. When I see people advertising affiliate programs in ezines and forums, I think of  Joe and his bucket. Your organisation is the bucket and your prospects are the expensive water.

The prospects pouring from the holes would never spend money with a complete stranger, they have no trust in you, or your business.

As with most things in life there is a right way and a wrong way of doing it. Your advertising should always be directed toward building  your opt in email list. This can be a simple autoresponder, an ezine, a program or anything where you can relate to your prospects and they can warm to you.

Once your prospects are loaded into your list, you can begin to warm them with honest advice. Genuinely help people and they will remember your kindness. As they warm, they trust you and your relationship blossoms.

They are safely contained in your newly sealed bucket and each time you want to advertise an affiliate venture or your latest product, you don't need to go advertising here there and everywhere, you just mail to your list.

Your prospects trust your judgement, and you have a duty to keep that trust, therefore a much higher number of prospects will read, and buy from your web site.

The easiest way to create your opt in list is by using an autoresponder. Because they are hosted separately, they are relatively easy to set up. You just need to create a series of messages for your prospects to read, load them into your responder and away you go.

Now you are in a position to market any product you like, whenever you like, on the click of a mouse.
